According to research released by Canadian Women & Sport, the value of the country’s pro women’s sports market is on track to reach approximately $570 million by 2030, highlighting a major shift in the sports industry landscape.
The report describes this surge as one of the most significant developments in Canadian sports, driven by increasing fan engagement, expanded media coverage, and rising investment from sponsors and stakeholders.
Leagues such as the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) and the Northern Super League (NSL) have played a key role in accelerating this momentum, alongside growing government and corporate support for women’s athletics.
In addition, audience demand continues to climb. The study indicates that a majority of Canadians now show interest in women’s sports, signaling a cultural and economic turning point.
