Poland beat Benin, while Ghana and Nigeria face crucial final group matches.

September 12, 2026 — Canada signed off their group-stage campaign with a commanding 6–0 victory over Tanzania on Friday, while Brazil defeated England 2–1 to finish with three wins from three at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

For Canada, the result provided a much-needed response after a difficult start to the tournament. A 1–1 draw with England had been followed by a 3–0 defeat against Brazil, leaving the Canadians needing a strong finish. Six unanswered goals against Tanzania brought their final Group B tally to four points and significantly improved their goal difference.

Tanzania’s debut campaign ended with three defeats. The East African side lost 4–1 to Brazil and 5–1 to England before their final encounter with Canada, underlining the demanding standard of competition at the global youth tournament.

Brazil, meanwhile, showed their ability to recover under pressure. Lily Dent put England ahead, but Clarinha equalised from the penalty spot before Gisele scored the winner deep into second-half stoppage time. The comeback secured first place in Group B and maintained Brazil’s perfect record heading into the knockout stage.

Hosts Poland also enjoyed a productive evening, beating Benin 4–1. Zuzanna Grzywińska scored a hat-trick, with Kinga Wyrwas adding Poland’s other goal. Romaine Gandonou struck late for Benin, whose first appearance at the tournament has included a difficult introduction to international competition.

Elsewhere, Spain delivered one of the tournament’s most emphatic results on Thursday, overwhelming New Caledonia 11–0. Defending champions DPR Korea defeated Costa Rica 4–0, while Colombia and Portugal shared a goalless draw.

For Africa’s remaining contenders, the final group fixtures carry considerable weight. Ghana recovered from a 3–0 opening defeat against Ecuador to beat Korea Republic 3–1 and face France on September 12. Nigeria, beaten 2–0 by Spain before drawing 0–0 with China PR, meet New Caledonia on September 13 with their qualification hopes still in play.

Selected confirmed results — September 10–11
