Toronto side seeks a statement victory as the Northern Super League season enters a pivotal stage.

AFC Toronto will travel to Montreal this weekend for one of their most significant tests of the 2026 Northern Super League season, facing a Montreal Roses FC side that has emerged as one of the league’s leading contenders.

As the inaugural NSL campaign approaches its midpoint, AFC Toronto continues to search for consistency while demonstrating encouraging signs of growth in Canada’s new professional women’s football landscape. Despite several closely contested matches this season, the Toronto-based club has often found itself on the wrong side of narrow scorelines, underlining the competitive nature of the league.

Saturday’s encounter offers AFC Toronto an opportunity to secure a statement result against a Montreal side that has established itself among the league’s strongest performers. The visitors will be looking to capitalize on their improving performances and convert promising displays into valuable points.

For AFC Toronto, the match represents more than just another league fixture. It is an opportunity to demonstrate the progress made during the club’s inaugural season and reinforce its ambition to compete with the NSL’s top teams. A positive result in Montreal would provide a significant boost as the race for playoff positions intensifies.

Montreal Roses FC, however, will enter the contest with confidence, backed by strong home support and a solid record throughout the campaign. Their consistency has positioned them among the early pace-setters in the league and they will be eager to maintain that momentum.

With both clubs pursuing important objectives, the stage is set for a compelling Northern Super League showdown that could have significant implications for the standings in the weeks ahead.

Match: Montreal Roses FC vs AFC Toronto
